Most of the "grand" houses have been documented in one way or another elsewhere on the website and though listed are, generally, not described here. The website will, gradually, catalogue all these houses whether they have survived (shown in italics) or been demolished.

Occupation is shown chronologically although some exact dates have not yet been ascertained.
